How it all started
I came to Jersey at the age of 28, single and full of dreams of a better life. My fascination with flat roofs began almost as soon as I saw how beautifully they fit into the picturesque landscape of the island. I didn’t have many resources at the time, apart from a huge passion and willingness to work.
The first few months were challenging. Lack of knowledge of the local market and limited resources made every day a struggle to survive. I worked as a helper on various construction sites, observing, learning and dreaming of my own business specialising in flat roofs.
Over time, through hard work and determination, I began to gain the trust of the local community. My first independent job, repairing a leaking roof on a small shop, was a turning point. Despite the difficulties, I was able to complete the work, gaining recognition and further orders.These humble beginnings taught me patience, perseverance and humility.Every roof I worked on was like a new lesson, shaping my skills and vision.Over time, from a small one-man business, my company grew to become a well-known and respected entity on the island, specialising in flat roofs.Today, looking back on those early days, I feel immense gratitude for every obstacle in my path.They were the ones that made me stronger and taught me that with passion and determination, one can overcome the greatest difficulties and pursue one’s dreams, even being alone on a foreign island.
My story
My fascination with flat roofs began many years ago when I first saw how masterfully crafted roofs harmonise with the architecture on Jersey. The island, with its unique landscape and climate, demanded a specialist approach to roofs, which became a source of inspiration for me.
The beginnings were humble but passionate. Each project was like a new adventure for me, an opportunity to learn and improve my skills. Working at height, exposure to changing weather conditions and technical challenges all only intensified my love for this work. Flat roofs, with their simplicity and elegance, became my speciality.
Setting up a business in Jersey was not easy. The market was already saturated, and local regulations and the peculiarities of the island posed additional challenges. I needed to stand out, to show that my approach to working on flat roofs was different – more innovative and focused on quality. The difficulties and obstacles I encountered along the way only reinforced my conviction that what I was doing made sense.
My experience over the years has enabled me to understand the importance of knowing the local conditions and adapting my working techniques to suit them. Every roof in Jersey has a story, and I wanted to be part of those stories, helping to protect and beautify homes and buildings.
Today, after years of hard work, my company is recognised in Jersey. We specialise in flat roofs, offering the highest level of service. My passion for working on roofs has never waned and every job is another challenge for me. I know that nothing can defeat me, as each obstacle has only made me stronger and more determined to pursue my dreams and passions, creating safe and aesthetically pleasing roofs for the people of Jersey.
